What is a Transition Counselor?

As a Transition Counselor, my job is to assist your child with transitioning to life after high school. I will work along your child's assigned school counselor to support your child with their plans for their future. This includes, but is not limited to career exploration, job shadowing, applying for jobs, deciding on a career path, exploring colleges, applying for colleges, and providing post-secondary opportunities.
If your child has a 504 or an IEP, I will do my best to attend your child's meeting, provide input for support services, assist teachers and staff with specially designed instruction when necessary, assist with resources and outside supports, while supporting you and your child through their high school career.
