Rules To Follow For Marching Season!!

Band Members:

  1. You must have your band t-shirt on at all football games, parades, competitions, pep assembles, Kennywood, Washington Co. Fair, etc. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
  2. Ladies and guys with long or bushy hair, must be put into a French Braid during fall season performances. If your hair is too short for a single braid, then two wrap around braids are acceptable. NO PONY TAILS!!!! NO "wispies"!!!! This is for the entire time. Do Not let your hair down after we exit the field.
  3. Ladies, minimal use of make up during performances.
  4. All jewelry must be removed before performances, i.e. earrings, nose rings, necklaces, etc.
  5. Men, you must be clean shaven for all performances. If you are have a mustache, sideburns, beard, it must be neatly trimmed.
  6. You are required to sit, at all times, with your section during football games and competitions. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! DON'T ASK EITHER!!!!
  7. You will be signing up for bus assignments during band camp. Choose your bus wisely, because you will not be permitted to change buses throughout the season. DON'T ASK!!!
  8. NO FOOD ALLOWED WHILE IN UNIFORM. This includes all games, competitions (we will be changing after our performances), parades, etc. Remember to eat before the event!!! We have to make these uniforms last another 5 years. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! DON'T ASK!!!!
  9. During games, you are responsible to pay attention to the game, you have to be ready to play at any time. Please pay attention to the Drum Majors and Directors for instructions. No solo playing during the game. We will give amble time to warm up before we perform.
  10. During competitions, you will be required to pay attention to all performing groups. This is not a social time to goof around. When each performing group enters the field, all members are to stand up at attention and stop talking. This is our way of showing respect for the group on the field.
  11. There is to be NO GUM chewing during any rehearsals (classroom or field) or performances!!!
  12. Gym shoes must be worn at all rehearsals. NO SANDALS or BACKLESS SHOES, EVER!!!
  13. White socks must be worn with your uniform. NO crew socks or ankle socks permitted!!! Socks must be at least 3 inches above your anklebone, NO EXCEPTIONS THIS YEAR!!!!!
  14. During cold games, you are permitted to wear warm gloves, hats, and jackets to keep warm. It is highly suggested that you try to find Ringgold colors.
  15. You must have white (not dirty or grungy) gloves for all performances. These can be purchased in the band office for $2.00 a pair.
  16. Only white marching shoes are permitted during performances. NO GYM SHOES ALLOWED!!! These shoes must be kept clean and white for all performances. There is a cleaner called "Awesome" that can be purchased at the DOLLAR TREE by Wal-Mart in Belle Vemon, for a $ 1.00 a bottle. It keeps the shoes clean and white.
  17. If leaving an away game, competition, or performance, you must turn in a transportation form at least two days before the event to be permitted to leave. You are not allowed to leave until the end of the event- You are only permitted to leave with your parent or guardian. NO EXCEPTIONS, except for an emergency.
  18. There will be NO HAZING of any kind!!!!! See School District Anti-Hazing Policy!

 Dalls, Poms, Rifles, & Flags:

  1. You must have your band t-shirt on at all football games, parades, competitions, pep assembles, Kennywood, Washington Co. Fair, etc. NO EXCEPTIONS unless otherwise told to you by your Instructors.
  2. Hair must be pulled back in a bun with the hairpiece attached. NO EXCEPTIONS unless otherwise told to you by your Instructors. ABSOLUTELY NO BANGS OR "WISPEES".
  3. No fingernail polish, (only French manicure is allowed)
  4. Black socks must be worn
  5. The new earrings must be worn. ALL other jewelry must be removed!!!! NO EXCEPTIONS unless otherwise told to you by your Instructors.
  6. Make-up must be worn on eyes, cheeks, and lips. (Bright colors not muted - not Tammy Fay Baker make-up)
  7. Guard - Fingerless gloves must be worn at all rehearsals and performances!!!!
  8. Uniforms and shoes must be kept clean and neat. These are brand new and must last 5 seasons. Take care of them!!!!!
  9. Your bag is part of your uniform and must be brought to all performances. Keep your wind suit in it always. It is your responsibility to carry it around, not the Instructors, Chaperones. or parent helpers. Do not cany cell phones or food in these bags. If found with these or any other "illegal" items, all bags will be taken away for the next performance. If this happens a second time, all bags will be taken away for the season. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!

  11. You must have your own equipment at all practices (including band class). No one is permitted to use the school's equipment for practices!!!!!
